CLOUD

Competition - Winnipeg Winterstation - April 2015

Cloud is a solid form for people to hide in. with a focus on texture and material, the shelter composed of a floating block of thread challenges the convention notion of the “warming hut”. the thread material intends to emulate the feeling of wrapping oneself in a cozy blanket, both in appearance and in feel. Visitors enjoying the river skating trail are presented with the opportunity to hide themselves from the harsh winter conditions in the cloud. Composed of a dense array of soft thread, cloud can can be accessed from all sides, placing no restriction on the number of ways that visitors can interact with the installation. simply part the thread and immerse yourself in the space you have created.
